Internship – Lab Technician. Biochemical

In this crucial role, you will be in the field, responsible for technical operations related to the isolation, characterization and cultivation of mushrooms. This is a high-impact hands-on internship where you will directly contribute to bringing our vision of mycotechnologies with an environmental impact to life, ensuring that no two days are the same.

👉 As an intern, you will contribute and learn about:

  • Isolation, stabilization and identification of wild fungal specimens.
  • Characterization trials of new fungal specimens. 🍄
  • Fungal culture in solid and liquid fermentations.
  • Develop and optimize extraction methods to ensure high quality of DNA and RNA from fungi 🧬
  • Support for the implementation of assays related to various fungal applications (bioremediation, waste treatment and bioconversion).
  • Validation of analytical methods, calibration and first-level maintenance of equipment.
  • Analyze and interpret data, and prepare reports summarizing results. 📊
  • Support Continuous Improvement – Identify bottlenecks, test solutions, and iterate quickly in a startup environment.
  • Collaborate with other scientists and researchers to support the project’s objectives.

Formation

Pursuing or having recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biotechnology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field. 🎓

Availability

We are seeking year-round interns for a minimum period of three months 📆

Technical skills

  • Strong theoretical understanding and some practical experience in key microbiology techniques, particularly in mycology. 🍄
  • Convenience of use of laboratory equipment and basic analytical tools (e.g., balances, pH meters, spectrophotometers)
  • Ability to monitor, record and interpret process parameters (pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen, etc.)
  • Understanding of fungal biology and microbial culture techniques
  • Knowledge of downstream processes such as filtration, separation or drying
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques, such as DNA/RNA
  • Third-generation extraction, PCR and sequencing
  • A keen interest in soil microbiology and fungal cultivation
  • Comfortable with lab, pilot or industry-scale fermentation systems (e.g., solid-state fermentation, batch, fed-batch)
